PUYALLUP, Wash. (AP) — The Pierce County prosecutor has charged an 18-year-old Puyallup man with aggravated murder in the slaying of a 16-year-old girl with developmental disabilities.

Prosecutor Mark Lindquist says Tyler Wolfgang Savage strangled and raped Kimberly “Kimmie” Daily on Aug. 17 and then dumped her body in a thicket of blackberry bushes.

Savage pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Tuesday afternoon in Pierce County Superior Court in Tacoma. Court Commissioner Patrick Oishi ordered him held without bail.

The prosecutor has not yet decided whether to seek the death penalty.

Lindquist says Savage took sheriff’s detectives to the body Monday during questioning. He said he led Daily to the isolated area and strangled her when she attempted to leave. According to the prosecutor, Savage said he later went to a neighbor’s house to play video games.
