PUYALLUP, Wash. (AP) — Pierce County sheriff’s detectives continue to investigate an 18-year-old Puyallup (pew-AL’-up) man who led them to the body of a missing 16-year-old girl.

Det. Ed Troyer says the body of Kimmie Daily was found Monday evening in a ditch 12 blocks from her home. The developmentally disabled girl had been missing since last Tuesday when she left her home on a bike to go to a friend’s house.

Sgt. Mike Blair told KOMO News the 18-year-old had been questioned earlier in the search because he lives in the neighborhood. When he was questioned again Monday he led detectives to the body.

He’s being held in the jail in Tacoma.
