At 2:22 a.m. this morning, Portland Police Officers were dispatched to an accident in the southbound lanes of the I-205 Glenn Jackson Bridge.

Officers arrived to find all southbound lanes blocked, midspan, on the north leg of the bridge. A semi-truck and two trailers rolled on its side and smashed a 1998 Honda Civic coupe. Officers learned that the Honda and another car, described as a red Pontiac Grand Am, were in some sort of road rage incident that caused the accident with the semi-truck, which was not involved in the road rage. The Pontiac was not involved in the accident and continued to travel southbound. Portland Police would like to speak with the driver of the Pontiac.

The occupants of the Honda were transported to a Southwest Washington hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The Portland Police Traffic Division is investigating.

All southbound lanes of I-205 on the bridge will be closed for the next 1 to 1.5 hours as crews work to remove all the vehicles and trailers from the scene. Alternate traffic route would be SR 14 to I-5.
