PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The driver of a car that rear-ended a parked semi-truck was killed in a fiery crash on I-84 about 20 miles east of Portland in the Corbett area.
Oregon State Police say the truck driver was in the sleeper at a viewpoint parking area about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday when the car veered off the freeway, hit the truck and caught fire.
The truck driver was able to unhook the truck from the trailer, but he and others were unable to reach the driver of the car because of the fire.
The medical examiner is working to identify the victim.
