CHARLESTON, Ore. (AP) — A Coast Guard helicopter has rescued a woman who injured her ankle on an Oregon beach when she was struck by a wave while walking along the rocks.
The Coast Guard responded after the Charleston, Ore., Fire Department called for assistance Tuesday at Bastendorff Beach. With the help of an emergency medical technician, the unidentified woman was secured in a rescue basket, hoisted aboard the helicopter and taken to Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay for treatment.
