SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Spokane didn’t have to dream about a white November — it really happened. The National Weather Service says the Eastern Washington city has set a new, unofficial record for snow in November — with 25.7 inches measured as of 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Meteorologist Greg Koch (Cook) says the previous record was 24.7 inches in 1955. And he says weather records have been kept in Spokane since 1893.

A storm packing serious snow pounded Eastern Washington and the state’s Cascade Mountains on Tuesday. Koch says 5.1 inches of snow has fallen in Spokane in the past 24 hours.
