BURIEN, Wash. (AP) — King County sheriff’s deputies had responded to a report of a suicidal man in a car at Burien, but he shot himself before they could intervene.
Sheriff’s spokesman John Urquhart (URK’-hart) says a relative reported the man had a gun. Deputies went to an intersection where they found his car. Before they could do anything, he shot himself shortly before noon Wednesday. He’s been taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle in critical condition.
Urquhart says no deputies fired their weapons and none were hurt.
