The city of Ridgefield received two clean audits, free of findings or management letters, from the Washington State Auditor’s Office.

The financial audit reviewed financial statements and reporting, internal controls and federal compliance with state laws and regulations. The accountability audit encompassed city contracts, utility billings and receipting, developer agreements, procurement, disbursements and expenditures, payroll, conflicts of interest and open public meetings. The audits covered 2008 and 2009.

The final findings for the financial audit were released in September. The accountability audit findings were released last week.

“The city of Ridgefield strives to maintain full compliance with federal and state statutes,” City Manager Justin Clary said in a news release. “We are pleased with the recent audit results that demonstrate our effective management of city funds and compliance of existing laws.”
