LAKE LOUISE, Alberta (AP) — German Maria Riesch has won a World Cup downhill, holding off American Lindsey Vonn.
Riesch completed the course in 1 minute, 28.96 seconds.
Vonn, winner of a record seven downhills at Lake Louise, Alberta, was second in 1:29.08. Elisabeth Goergl of Austria was third in 1:29.17.
The women will race another downhill Saturday and a super-G on Sunday.
