Detroit ends slide against Wright State, 78-69

DETROIT (AP) — Jason Calliste scored 20 points and Eli Holman recorded his sixth double-double of the season as Detroit snapped a 10-game losing streak to Wright State, 78-69 Saturday.

Holman finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds and Ray McCallum added 16 points for the Titans (5-4, 1-0 Horizon), who last beat the Raiders (3-5, 0-1) on Feb. 8, 2006.

Vaughn Duggins led Wright State with 23 points and N’Gai Evans had 14.

Detroit never trailed and took a 39-30 lead into halftime. The Titans attempted just 13 shots in the second half but made 10 of them (76.9 percent) and were 17 of 22 from the free-throw line. The Raiders kept the game close by hitting seven 3s in the second half.

Detroit shot 59 percent for the game and outrebounded Wright State 33-16.
