Minnesota Duluth advances with 24-13 victory

DULUTH, Minn. (AP) — Brian Hanson rushed for 124 yards and a touchdown as Minnesota Duluth defeated Augustana 24-13 Saturday in the quarterfinals of the Division II playoffs.

Robbie Aurich scored on a 23-yard fumble recovery and the Bulldogs (13-0) won at home for a school-record seventh time this season. Minnesota Duluth will play Northwest Missouri State next weekend.

Josh Hanson threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Schulte with 12:56 left in the first quarter to give the Vikings (11-2) a 6-0 lead, but Minnesota Duluth scored the next 24 points.

The Bulldogs amassed 247 rushing yards on 61 carries, threw the ball just nine times and limited Augustana to 180 yards of total offense.

Brad Foss added a 1-yard rushing TD for Minnesota Duluth.
