Presbyterian routs Virginia Military 92-78

LEXINGTON, Va. (AP) — Al’Lonzo Coleman scored 23 points and Khalid Mutakabbir had 22 as Presbyterian beat Virginia Military Institute 92-78 on Saturday.

The pair led a solid shooting effort for the Blue Hose as Coleman made 11 of 20 field goal attempts and Mutakabbir was 6 of 7 from the field and 7 of 8 from the foul line. The Blue Hose (3-5, 1-1 Big South Conference) shot 54.8 percent from the field (34 for 62).

Jake Troyli added 16 points, Pierre Miller had 15 and Walt Allen added 11 for the Blue Hose, which has won two of its past three games. It was the highest point total of the season for Presbyterian, which opened the second half with a 19-6 run to lead 62-47 with 12:29 to play.

Stan Okoye led the Keydets (6-3, 0-2) with 30 points. Keith Gabriel added 14 points and Austin Kenon had 12 for VMI, which has lost three of its past four games.
