Colorado Rockies’ Jay Alves wins Fishel Award

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) — Jay Alves of the Colorado Rockies has won the Robert O. Fishel Award for public relations excellence, given annually by Major League Baseball.

Alves, Colorado’s vice president of communications and public relations, is in his 13th season with the Rockies and 29th in baseball.

The award, announced Monday, is named after the inaugural winner, who worked for the Cleveland Indians, St. Louis Browns, New York Yankees and the American League.
