SEATTLE (AP) — A 10-year-old boy who was mauled Saturday by three large dogs in Seattle is reported in satisfactory condition Monday at Harborview Medical Center.
A spokeswoman said Monday he has been taken out of the intensive care unit.
He was mauled by three bull mastiffs when he climbed a fence into their yard to retrieve a ball. Police said he suffered a possible broken arm and large gashes to his head and throat.
The dogs are under a 10-day rabies quarantine at the Seattle Animal Shelter. Director Don Jordan says an investigation of the case will be turned over to the city attorney for possible charges. If the dogs are found to be dangerous animals, a judge may order them killed.
