One driver who traveled through the intersection of Northeast 28th Street and 138th Avenue Sunday night thought her vehicle had been shot at, according to Kim Kapp, a Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman.

It likely wasn’t bullets or BBs, Kapp said, but glass bottles, golf and croquet balls. At least five vehicles were struck between 9 and 9:30 p.m. as they drove between the Image and Parkside neighborhoods in east Vancouver.

Two 14-year-olds were arrested on suspicion of reckless endangerment and second-degree malicious mischief and lodged in the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center.

Kapp said officers responded to the area after receiving several reports of cars struck by miscellaneous objects and found a baseball stamped with a name identifying one of the arrested teens.

Police are asking anyone who drove through the area and believes they were struck to contact the department because “there may be more,” Kapp said. No injuries have been reported.

Reports can be filed over the phone or via the department’s website. Contact the West Precinct at 360-487-7355.
