TUALATIN, Ore. (AP) — A Tualatin Valley, Ore., Fire and Rescue investigator is blaming a dishwasher as the likely cause of a fire that destroyed a kitchen and damaged much of the rest of a home.
A neighbor called for help Monday, reporting flames coming from the front of a two-story home. Fire crews kept the blaze from spreading to other rooms.
The resident told investigators that the dishwasher was running when he left the home. Deputy Fire Marshal John Wolff says he recommends “that you never leave your house with an appliance running.”
