Loyola Marymount downs Sacramento State 69-49

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Drew Viney’s 15 points led four Loyola Marymount players in double figures Tuesday night in a 69-49 victory over Sacramento State.

Vernon Teel and Larry Davis added 13 apiece, while Godwin Okonji scored 11 for the Lions (5-5). Teel and Anthony Ireland had six assists each.

John Dickson had 11 points and a game-high nine rebounds to lead the Hornets (2-6), and Sultan Toles-Bey scored 10.

Marymount led by 13 points in the first half, utilizing a 10-point swing from 20-17 to 30-17 over 4:44. Viney, who had 10 first-half points, scored with 33 seconds left to give the Lions a 32-21 advantage at the break.

The Lions outscored the Hornets 37-28 in the second half behind from 10 points from Davis.

Loyola Marymount, which outshot the Hornets 43.4 percent to 29.1 percent, has won three of its last four.

Sacramento State has dropped five of its last six.
