DALLAS (AP) — Center Tyson Chandler has a stomach virus and will miss the Dallas Mavericks’ game against Golden State.
Chandler stayed home when the Mavericks held a shootaround Tuesday morning and didn’t come to the arena for the game. He is averaging 8.9 points and 9.3 rebounds in his first season with Dallas.
Brendan Haywood replaced Chandler in the starting lineup. It was his first start of the season.
Chandler also has played a big part in the defensive improvement behind the Mavericks’ 16-4 start. Dallas had won nine straight headed into Tuesday night’s game against the Warriors.
