EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — A medical marijuana robbery has resulted in a 15-year prison sentence for a 41-year-old Eugene man.
The Register-Guard reports Wayne Thomas New was sentenced Tuesday for the October home invasion robbery in the Oakridge area. He pleaded guilty earlier to robbery and kidnapping charges. Two other men involved in the case have pleaded guilty and will be sentenced Thursday in Lane County Circuit Court.
Police say three robbers tied up three men at a home and stole about 10 pounds of marijuana, guns and other property.
During a police chase, New tried to escape by jumping into the McKenzie River.
