LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) — A person familiar with the negotiations tells The Associated Press that outfielder Carl Crawford has reached a preliminary agreement with the Boston Red Sox on a $142 million, seven-year contract.
The agreement is subject to Crawford passing a physical, the person said Wednesday night. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal was not yet final.
Crawford’s deal was first reported by The Boston Globe on its Web site.
