ASTORIA, Ore. (AP) — A veteran of the Astoria City Council has been named the new city attorney.
The Daily Astorian reports that Blair Henningsgaard accepted the job after a motion to hire him was passed following an executive session at Monday night’s Astoria City Council meeting.
Henningsgaard has been on Astoria City Council for nine years and will be replaced in January by Karen Mellin after losing the election Nov. 2.
Henningsgaard will take over a city attorney on Jan. 1.
