FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) — Ryan Pearson had 18 points as George Mason extended its winning streak to five games with a 66-52 win over Loyola (Md.) on Wednesday night.

Cam Long was perfect from the field en route to 11 first-half points as the Patriots (7-2) took a 36-23 lead at halftime, and then used the inside play of Pearson to extend the lead to as many as 22 in the second half to complete a perfect five-game homestand. The loss was the third straight for the Greyhounds (3-5).

Long, who became the 30th member of the Patriots’ 1,000-point club with a 3-pointer to open the game, finished with 15 points and Luke Hancock added 13 points and seven assists.

Shane Walker and Robert Olson each had 14 points to pace the Greyhounds, who became the fifth consecutive George Mason opponent to be held to less than 40 percent shooting from the field.
