EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — Tyler Zeller scored 18 points in his return to Indiana, and Justin Knox had 13 points to lead North Carolina past Evansville 76-49 on Wednesday night.

It was the first time the Tar Heels (6-3) played at 54-year-old Roberts Stadium, which will close at the end of this season. They came for one reason: To give Zeller an opportunity to play in front of his family and friends from Washington, Ind., about 60 miles away.

The Purple Aces (3-4) couldn’t keep up with the bigger, quicker Tar Heels. Colt Ryan had nine points for Evansville, which was 3 of 20 from 3-point range and lost for the fourth time in five games.

North Carolina took control with an early 10-0 run, extended the lead to 46-27 at the half and never let Evansville get closer than 17 over the final 20 minutes.
