DU banquet slated tonight

Tickets will be available at the door for tonight’s 40th annual Vancouver Ducks Unlimited banquet at the Hilton Vancouver Convention Center, 301 W. Sixth St.

The tickets cost $75 per person and the doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Items for auction and raffle will include guns, decoys, hunting and fishing merchandise, a fly-fishing trip to Argentina, a goose hunt to Eastern Washington and a combination duck hunt and coho fishing trip to Alaska.

Money from the event is used to conserve and restore wetlands in North America.

Local CCA chapter meets Tuesday

CAMAS — The Southwest Washington chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Camas Meadows Golf Club, 4105 Camas Meadows Drive.

Peter Barber of the Lower Columbia Fish Enhancement Group will discuss the importance of recycling adult salmon carcasses to support juvenile young salmon in local watersheds.

Oregon park passes on sale

PORTLAND — A day-use parking permit good for 12 months at 26 of Oregon’s most popular state parks is on sale for $25 until Dec. 31.

The annual permit normally is priced at $30. The permit is be transferable, no longer necessitating buying a second permit to park another vehicle in a fee area.

Visitors without a pass must buy $5 daily permits.

The 12- and 24-month permits can be bought by calling the Oregon State Parks Information Center at 1-800-551-6949. VISA or MasterCard credit or debit cards are accepted.

A list of other vendors who sell the passes is available online at www.oregonstateparks.org/dayuse_permit_vendors.php.

Among the parks requiring day-use fees include Rooster Rock, Dabney, Benson, Viento and Twin Tunnels in the Columbia Gorge plus Fort Stevens and Ecola along the north coast.

Bass club meets Dec. 21

PORTLAND — The Oregon Bass and Panfish Club will meet at 7 p.m. Dec. 21 at the East Portland Community Center, 740 SE 106th Ave.

A video on warm-water fishing will be presented.
