Georgia Southern defeated Brewton-Parker 86-74

STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) — Eric Ferguson had 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead Georgia Southern over Brewton-Parker 86-74 on Saturday night.

The Eagles (3-7) trailed by as many as seven, and 36-34 at halftime, before shooting 73.1 percent in the second half (19 of 26) to snap a six-game losing skid. The Eagles outscored Brewton-Parker 52-38 in the second half, including 26 points in the paint.The Barons (1-7) led 36-29 with 1:32 left in the first half before Georgia Southern scored eight straight to lead 37-36 on Tre Bussey’s 3-pointer 14 seconds into the second half.

It remained tight, as the Eagles led 57-56 with 9:02 to play. They then outscored the NAIA Barons 21-7 over the next 6:36 and led by as many as 15, 78-63, on Rory’s three-point play with 2:26 left.

Spencer finished with 16 points and Bussey had 15.

DeMario Black led Brewton-Parker with 27 points and Andrew Dikas had 13.
