UTEP hammers Arkansas-Pine Bluff 77-54

EL PASO, Texas (AP) — Jeremy Williams scored 13 of his 15 points in the first half Sunday night and UTEP cruised to a 77-54 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Williams had seven points during a 21-0 UTEP run that gave the Miners (6-2) a 25-4 lead. It was 48-21 at the half — the Miners shot 60.7 percent in the first 20 minutes — and UTEP led by as many as 38 points in the second half.

Christian Polk had 14 points and John Bohannon had 12 points and 12 rebounds for UTEP, which finished at 56 percent from the field.

Terrell Kennedy led Arkansas-Pine Bluff (0-8) with 13 points. Gavin Montgomery scored 12 points and Daniel Broughton had 11 points and 10 rebounds.

The Golden Lions scored the final 12 points to trim the final margin to 23 points, the closest they got after halftime.
