CHICAGO (AP) — A powerful storm that unleashed snow and strong winds across the upper Midwest has left behind dangerously cold temperatures.

The weekend storm closed major highways in several states, canceled more than 1,600 flights in Chicago and collapsed the roof of the Minnesota Vikings’ stadium. At least six weather-related deaths were reported.

The storm dropped nearly 2 feet of snow in parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin. Strong winds that blew snow around in Michigan, Illinois and Indiana severely limited visibility.

The National Weather Service says the storm is headed northeast toward Canada. Snow is possible Monday in Michigan, northern Indiana and parts of Pennsylvania and New York.

Officials said plunging temperatures in the upper Midwest could cause problems on roadways even in places where the storm has passed.
