WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — Toure Murry scored a season-high 20 points to help Wichita State turn a three-point halftime lead into a 71-49 victory over Alabama A&M on Monday night.

Graham Hatch had a season-high 16 points for the Shockers (7-2).

Cornelius Hester led the Bulldogs (3-4) with 17 points.

After Alabama A&M shot 46.7 percent in the first half, Wichita State’s defense clamped down. The Bulldogs made just two of their first 11 shots in the second half, and the Shockers pulled away for good with a 19-6 run that made it 57-41.

Neither team led by more than six in a hectic first half. Wichita State scored six straight points to take a 25-19 lead, but Alabama A&M answered with a 10-2 run highlighted by Jerome Hunter’s dunk. The Shockers scored the final five points of the half for a 38-35 advantage.
