Driver injured when car hits power pole

A man suffered serious injuries Monday when he slammed his van into a power pole. His name was not released.

Crews from Clark County Fire District 6 responded to the 2600 block of Northeast 179th Street at about 5:20 p.m. They said the van crossed 179th and struck the pole head-on.

The man was transported to Southwest Washington Medical Center with traumatic injuries, according to a press release issued by Fire District 6.

Power lines fell onto the roadway.

Clark Public Utilities, Clark County Fire & Rescue, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and American Medical Response also responded.
