NEW YORK (AP) — New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s administration is suing a tobacco company in Washington state. He’s accusing it of illegally selling and distributing untaxed cigarettes in New York.
The suit was filed Tuesday in federal court in Brooklyn.
It alleges that King Mountain Tobacco Company made numerous shipments of unstamped cigarettes to New York state.
The suit says that’s a violation of three federal statutes.
King Mountain had no immediate comment.
The company is Indian-owned and is located on the Yakama reservation.
