PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Complaints from some northeast Portland residents that their drinking water smelled like petroleum and mothballs brought out city water bureau crews.
The city says the crews confirmed the smell reported Tuesday night and flushed the water system until the odor disappeared.
City officials tell KPTV they think flushing the water has removed the source of the odor. They advised residents to report — and not drink — any water that has an odor.
