Presbyterian defeats Jacksonville St. 74-70 in OT

CLINTON, S.C. (AP) — Al’Lonzo Coleman scored six of his 19 points in overtime as Presbyterian defeated Jacksonville State 74-70 Wednesday night.

Coleman missed his first seven shots from the floor, then finished 4 of 6 for the Blue Hose (4-6). He also went 11 for 14 from the free-throw line.

The game saw 14 ties and 19 lead changes, with the Gamecocks’ Jeremy Bynum hitting a jumper with 6 seconds left in regulation to tie it at 57.

After Bynum opened overtime with a layup, Ryan Hargrave’s three-point play gave Presbyterian the lead for good.

Jacksonville State (2-9) outshot the Blue Hose 56 percent (28 of 50) to 51.1 percent (24 of 47), but Presbyterian hit 23 of 30 free throws compared to 10 of 15 for the Gamecocks.

Khalid Mutakabbir added 17 points for the Blue Hose.

Bynum scored 18 points and Nick Murphy had 16 points and 12 rebounds, a season high for Jacksonville State.
