So what’s next? Shaq takes a jab someone’s acting skills? Michael Moore suggests one lay off the french fries? Lady Gaga blurts “that outfit is a little…much.”

Each would be on par with Clippers owner Donald Sterling’s antics. Yahoo Sports recently revealed that Sterling has been heckling his own point guard Baron Davis, bellowing barbs such as “why are you in the game?” and “you’re out of shape!” Sterling apparently doesn’t believe Davis has lived up to his 5-year, $65 million contract and has been blasting him repeatedly from his courtside seat at Staples Center.

The thing, the team Sterling owns just so happened to be named the worst sports franchise ever by Sports Illustrated a few years back, and aside from reaching the second round of the playoffs in 2006, the Clippers have done little to counter the claim.

It was Sterling’s team that selected Michael Olowokandi as the No. 1 pick in 1998. It has been Sterling’s stinginess over the past few decades that figured so prominently into the Clippers’ perpetual futility.

So while he’s yelling “why are you in the game?” fans could be yelling “Because you’re too cheap to get somebody better!”

Cliff Lee shocked the baseball world by passing on tens of millions of extra dollars he could have received from the Yankees to sign a 5-year, $120 million deal with the Phillies.

Was it worth the sacrifice? Well, there was a football player about four years back who took less money to stay with the team of his choice.

His name was Tom Brady. Things seemed to have worked out nicely for him.
