A man and woman who were found dead in their half of a Camas duplex Monday died of carbon monoxide poisoning, according to a bulletin issued by the Camas Police Department. Police identified the couple, who died of an apparent double suicide, as David and Anna Mickel.

The married couple’s bodies were found inside their home in the 1500 block of Northwest 10th Avenue. The Mickels were discovered at about 11 p.m. Monday. It is not known exactly when they died.

David Mickel was 53. Anna Mickel was 44.

“There’s nothing suspicious,” said Detective Carol Buck.

An autopsy by the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed suspicions that the Mickels died of carbon monoxide poisoning. Buck declined to release additional details, saying only, “It was done in the home.”

Clark County property records show the Mickels’ home was foreclosed on in January. The couple rented the home until their deaths.

Court records show Anna Mickel had previously secured a restraining order against her husband.

“There’s history here,” Buck said.
