CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (AP) — A judge has ordered the release of the criminal complaint in a sexual assault case against Denver Broncos cornerback Perrish Cox but says a second one must remain sealed for now.

Douglas County Judge Susanna Meissner-Cutler made his ruling Thursday in response to a motion by several media outlets, including The Associated Press.

Criminal complaints usually include basic information including the defendant’s name and charges, but few other details.

The judge says an affidavit used to obtain the arrest warrant should remain sealed because the case is still under investigation. The affidavit often includes more details of the alleged crime.

Cox was arrested Dec. 9 and is free on $50,000 bail.

If convicted, he could face a sentence of two years to life in prison.
