SEATTLE (AP) — Seattle police say in court papers that a man whose car injured three pedestrians at the Pike Place Market had smoked a synthetic form of marijuana before the crash.
On Friday, 39-year-old Travis Lipski appeared before a King County District Court judge and was ordered held for investigation of vehicular assault on $75,000 bail.
A police report says Lipski told investigators that he had smoked synthetic marijuana known as “K2” before driving on Thursday. According to The Seattle Times, authorities say such substances can be legal depending on the ingredients.
Harborview Medical Center spokeswoman Susan Gregg-Hanson says a 57-year-old man hit by the car was in serious condition Friday. She says a 25-year-old woman was listed in satisfactory condition while a 54-year-old woman was treated and released on Thursday.
