LA PINE, Ore. (AP) — The Deschutes County sheriff’s office says frost-covered windows were a factor in a fatal collision at La Pine.

Deputies say a 61-year-old La Pine man had his view obstructed when he pulled in front of a semi-truck Thursday night at an intersection on Highway 97.

The semi-driver couldn’t avoid hitting the truck. Wesley M. Powell died at the scene. Deputies believe alchol also was a contributing factor.

The semi-truck driver was not injured or cited.
