MILWAUKEE (AP) — Outfielder Carlos Gomez has signed a one-year contract with the Milwaukee Brewers, avoiding salary arbitration.
Gomez also avoided arbitration last year by agreeing to a one-year deal. Last season he agreed to $1.1 million, with the potential to earn an additional $100,000 in performance bonuses.
Gomez hit .247 with five home runs and 24 RBIs in 97 games. He had 18 stolen bases.
The Brewers’ other arbitration-eligible players include first baseman Prince Fielder, second baseman Rickie Weeks, and pitchers Manny Parra, Shaun Marcum and Kameron Loe.
