GRAYS HARBOR, Wash. (AP) — The Coast Guard says one boater has been found unresponsive and another is still missing after their vessel capsized in Willapa Bay, south of Grays Harbor.

One of the men was able to call 911 and report the accident shortly before midday Saturday. He reported that they were both in the water, and neither was wearing a life jacket.

The Coast Guard launched a rescue helicopter from Astoria, Ore., and hoisted the unresponsive man from the 45-degree water. He was taken to Willapa Harbor Hospital in South Bend.

The hospital declined to provide any information about the man’s condition and referred calls to the sheriff’s office, which did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

The Coast Guard says the helicopter crew and two boat crews continue to search for the other man.
