CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — Andre Young scored 22 points, including a pair of 3-pointers down the stretch, as Clemson held off a furious rally from winless North Carolina-Greensboro for a 71-61 victory Sunday.

The Tigers (7-4) used a late 15-0 run to stop the Spartans (0-10), who have lost nine games by double digits.

Jerai Grant had 19 points, 13 rebounds and five of Clemson’s nine blocks.

Korey Van Dussen led the Spartans with 20 points and six assists and Trevis Simpson had 16 points.

Trailing 37-16 at halftime, UNC Greensboro twice cut the deficit to two points in the second half, first on Simpson’s 3-point shot, then on Kyle Randall’s 3-pointer to make it 52-50 with 7:14 left.

But Clemson answered with Tanner Smith’s 3-pointer from the corner and Grant’s three-point play inside.

The Tigers closed the first half with a 24-4 run, but the Spartans opened the second with a 7-0 spurt.
