HILO, Hawaii (AP) — Nina Earl scored 10 of her 14 points in the second half to lead No. 9 UCLA over Hawaii 72-44 Sunday night.

The Bruins (9-0) used a stifling fast break to force the Rainbow Wahine (4-5) into 31 turnovers and 28 percent shooting, including 10.5 percent from 3-point range.

Jasmine Dixon and Doreena Campbell each added 10 points for UCLA.

Keisha Kanekoa scored 16 points, and Rebecca Dew and Kamilah Jackson added 10 apiece for Hawaii.

The Bruins pounded the ball inside, shooting 43 percent and attempting only one 3-pointer. They outrebounded Hawaii 31-20 and dominated the second half after leading by only nine at the break.

UCLA is off to its best start since a 12-0 mark to open the 1980-81 season.
