Garrett not saying whether Romo will practice

IRVING, Texas (AP) — The return of Tony Romo remains on hold.

Since Romo broke his left collarbone Oct. 25, the Dallas Cowboys have pointed toward having him back in the lineup this week. However, team owner Jerry Jones said Sunday he was not optimistic and Monday interim coach Jason Garrett would only say “we’ll see how he does, how he feels.”

The Cowboys have made a return possible by keeping him on the active roster.

Dallas plays Saturday night in Arizona. The final two games are on the road.

Romo has missed the last eight games, his longest absence since becoming the starting quarterback in 2006.

Dallas has gone 4-4 with Jon Kitna in his place. The 38-year-old Kitna has been statistically similar to what Romo did in his six games.
