BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — Doug Mallory and Mike Ekeler have been hired as Indiana’s new co-defensive coordinators.

New coach Kevin Wilson made the announcement Monday.

Mallory is the son of Bill Mallory, the winningest coach in Indiana history. He spent the last two years as New Mexico’s defensive coordinator after spending the previous four seasons as an assistant at LSU.

Ekeler coached linebackers the last two seasons at Nebraska. He also has coached at Oklahoma and LSU.

Mallory will be in charge of Indiana’s safeties, while Ekeler will continue to coach the linebackers.

It’s Mallory’s third stint on the Indiana staff. He was a grad assistant in 1988 and coached defensive backs and special teams from 1994-96.
