RENO, Nev. (AP) — Malik Story scored 20 points to lead Nevada over Portland State 79-73 on Monday night.
Deonte Burton added 13 points, Jerry Evans Jr. scored 12, Kevin Panzer 11 and Derrell Conner 10 for the Wolf Pack (3-8), who scored the final 10 points on free throws.
Chris Harriel had 23 points and Chehales Tapscott 18 for the Vikings (6-5), who overcame a 12-point first-half deficit and led 62-59 with 4:44 to play.
Nevada responded with a 10-2 run, capped by Burton’s 3-pointer and Conner’s runner in the lane to take a 69-64 lead with 2:09 left.
Nevada led 33-28 at halftime, with Portland State making it close by scoring the half’s final seven points capped by a driving layup by Charles Odum with 4.4 seconds left.
