Murray State defeats Tennessee-Martin 66-54

MARTIN, Tenn. (AP) — B.J. Jenkins scored all 11 of his points in the second half as Murray State pulled away from Tennessee-Martin 66-54 on Tuesday night to earn its fourth straight win.

The Racers (8-4, 2-1 Ohio Valley Conference) trailed 39-30 with 15:51 left, but a 20-6 run gave Murray State the lead, 50-45, with 9:35 remaining.

Ivan Aska scored 14 points to lead Murray State, while Isaiah Canaan added 12.

The Skyhawks (4-8, 0-3) went the next 9:07 without scoring a field goal and trailed 66-51 before a layup from Terence Smith broke the drought.

Smith scored 20 points and was the only Tennessee-Martin player to reach double figures.

The Skyhawks were 11 of 17 from the floor (64.7 percent) in the opening half and led 28-26 at halftime.

Murray State finished the game shooting 27 for 48 from the field (56.3 percent) and outrebounded the Skyhawks 29-16.
