MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexico’s new national team coach Jose Manuel de la Torre will make his debut on Feb. 9 when the team faces Bosnia-Herzegovina in Atlanta.

The Mexican Football Federation announced the friendly match Thursday, beginning the long cycle of games as Mexico attempts to qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

De la Torre was hired as coach two months ago, replacing Javier Aguirre who resigned after the World Cup, where Mexico lost to Argentina in the second round. De la Torre moved from Toluca, which has been one of Mexico’s most successful clubs in recent years.
