The Clark College men’s basketball team opened their Holiday Invitational with an 80-60 win over Umpqua on Monday at the O’Connell Center.

Max Snodderly led Clark (5-2) with 14 points and seven rebounds. Jerrid Hamler added 12 points, Camas grad Dan Anderson had 11, Mountain View grad Lucas Swanson 10 and Mark Morris grad Austin Bragg also had 10.

Clark held a 41-24 rebounding advantage for the game, and built a 50-24 halftime lead.

“I thought it was a nice team win,” Clark coach Mike Arnold said. “When we have the chance to control the boards like that and run, it really helps our overall play.”

Umpqua’s top scorer, Trevor Clemo, was held to 12 points as the Riverhawks fell to 2-7.

Clark will next face Portland Community College (4-4) at 8 p.m. today in the semifinal round. Portland advanced with a win over Wenatchee Valley (6-3). Vancouver Island (9-3) plays Chemeketa (5-4) in the other semifinal at 6 p.m.
