Pacific rallies to beat CS Northridge 74-64

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Sam Willard finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds and Jose Rivera added 18 points as Pacific defeated Cal State Northridge 74-64 Tuesday night.

Demetrece Young added 11 points for the Tigers (8-5, 1-0 Big West), who have won six of the last seven against the Matadors.

Lenny Daniel and Rashaun McLemore each scored 16 points to lead Northridge (3-9, 0-1), which has lost three in a row.

Pacific trailed 32-27 at halftime and by 10 in the second half before rallying. Down 43-33 with 15:39 to play, the Tigers surged ahead with 14 straight points — capped by Pat Eveland’s jumper with 12:22 remaining — and led the rest of the way.

After hitting just 10 field goals in the first half, Pacific shot 16 for 24 from the floor in the second.
