NEW YORK (AP) — Syracuse punter Rob Long, who had surgery to remove a malignant brain tumor earlier this month, says he expects to undergo radiation treatment and chemotherapy.

The 22-year-old Long joined his teammates in New York this week as they prepare for the Pinstripe Bowl on Thursday against Kansas State. He had been away from the team since having the surgery on Dec. 11.

He said during media availability on Tuesday that he feels “pretty good” physically, but the past month has been an emotional “roller coaster.”

Long says he and his family are still gathering information about treatment options, but he has told his doctors he wants to “attack this as aggressively as possible because I believe I can handle that.”
