FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas forward Marshawn Powell has been suspended, the university announced prior to the Razorbacks’ game with North Carolina A&T on Wednesday.

No reason or length was given for the suspension, though Powell will be allowed to continue practicing with the team.

Powell, a preseason first-team All-Southeastern Conference selection by the league’s coaches, is averaging 7.4 points per game this season while recovering from a broken foot suffered in the offseason. Last season, the 6-foot-7 sophomore averaged 14.9 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.

After scoring a season-high 17 points in a win over Mississippi Valley State on Dec. 15, Powell played just 10 minutes in a loss to Texas A&M. He followed that by going scoreless in only one minute in Arkansas’ last game, a 67-59 win over Texas Southern on Dec. 22.
